Jinja and the Nile - Tues Feb 17

Kyle and Moses trying out the bow and arrow
After we left the school, we made a quick stop at Kyle and Moses's house that they are renting nearby the school.  More about the "Big House" and exciting plans there later; our next stop was the city of Jinja.  I quickly learned that Jinja is where people go to relax. It's a beautiful little city with small shops, stores and restaurants.  Up first on the shopping list was a "bow and arrow!"  There is an elderly man who is hired to guard the "Big House" and he had requested a bow and arrow as his weapon of choice.  I really thought Moses was kidding when he said we needed to purchase one for the guard.  It's not your usual purchase in Lowes and Home Depot!

Next stop was the Source of the Nile River.  It was very appropriate to have "Moses" along and we were in search of a large basket to re-enact the baby Moses story!  Lake Victoria is the southern most point of the Nile River and because this river flows north, it actually starts where we were on the water.  Wouldn't you know out in the middle of this lake at a little island was an "orange" chair where each of my "Clemson" sojourners had to make a picture!  The video that follows give you a panoramic view of this beautiful lake.
